A 25-YEAR-OLD man, charged in the brutal slaying of a mother of two, was arraigned in Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Police have charged Valentino Hanna Dorsette, alias "Ballistic" of Sesame Street, with the murder of Tagia Soles-Armony, 29. Dorsette appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Carolita Bethel in Court 8, Bank Lane on the charges of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger the life of another.

It is alleged that on Friday, August 7, Dorsette intentionally caused the death of TaGia Soles-Armony and was in possession of a 9mm pistol with intent to endanger the life of her son Zen Armony.

According to reports, Soles-Armony was shot outside her mother's home in Sea Breeze as she sat in her car breast feeding her three-month-old son. Injured and with her son in her arms, TaGia reportedly tried to escape her attacker, only to rear-end a parked car and hit two other parked vehicles nearby before coming to a stop. Family and friends believe that Soles-Armony -- who had just returned home from St Kitts where she lived with her husband -- may have been a victim of mistaken identity or the target of an armed robbery gone wrong.

Dorsette, who is represented by attorney Krysta Smith, was not required to enter a plea to the murder and gun possession charges. Ms Smith requested that her client be taken to hospital because he had been "bringing up" blood. Magistrate Bethel said that arrangements would be made for Dorsette to be seen by a doctor at Her Majesty's Prison. Dorsette was remanded to Her Majesty's Prison yesterday. The case has been transferred to Court 11, Nassau Street and adjourned to August 24, which is when a date will be set for the start of a preliminary inquiry.

Title: Yes, to the gallows with them!!

I agree, just look at that fella who has been charged with a third murder, not convicted of any and walking free with a two teardrop tattoo under his eye!!! If he had brought up some blood the first time, I betcha he wouldnt be on murder #3. What is it gonna take for us to wake up?

Title: We do not know!

Even though we may question police intrrogation and tactics, let us all be mindful that we do not know the step by step developments of this investigation. The killer talks most of the time and that person talks to someone else.... and so on. We need to understand that the police have their ways of finding out who may be responsible for what and one of those ways is the street! I mean cummon - yall see the nickname of this fella? The Lord has appointed the guvment to among other things serve justice - we cannot worry about who is in jail innocently (though it unfortunate) but jusice should not be made a "get fat offa my taxes' experience - jail is supposed to be a place for you to pray to get out of and never want to come back! Jail is jail and by gash we need to stop feeling sorry and make jail A JAIL!! Beat em, starve um, do whatever it takes to make certian these people will neva want to hurt a fly again, much less another person. To the gallows with them all!!

Title: still have faith in the police!

there are still some good police officers out there who are professionals, and i believe in the system.all the police can do is catch the criminals and take them before the courts its ups to the court to decide and in most case the dangerous crminals are back on the streets commiting more henious crimes.i would rather help the police than to sit around and lambase them, .Lets not give up hope.

Title: Torture his ass and let him feel the fear Tagia felt

Yes God will deal with him! But luckily I didn't get to deal with him first. I walk into the room, masked, dressed in all black full length arms and legs, see the fear in his cowardly eyes as he wonders "what is this man gonna do to me?"...yes M effer...the question should be "What isn't this man gonna do to me you POS!" ...Police brutality...yall would be the first to wan kill someone if this happened to your sister, cousin, mother, aunty or friend....the lack of fear of the police is what causes punks like this to even think about doing something so horrific. ...Let there be torture, more torture....and yes M effer...you will bring up MORE blood.......and maybe then God will let you die!!

Title: hard to trust the police, but thankful he was captured

I agree, it would be perhaps reassuring to the public to find out how the police obtained the info needed to make the arrest. However, I am pleased to hear they have made an arrest because it is terrifying to know someone this dangerous could be out on the streets. Now, why can they not find the criminals of the KFC, bank, and home robberies, I wonder. Sure we should be supportive of the police, but the police need to be more professional and more vigilant. I myself have been robbed numerous times and have never had any reassurance that the police would find the perps, or that they even cared. The police do not always take fingerprints or secure the scenes or do proper investigations... so again, it would be reassuring to the public for the police to be more forthcoming about their investigations as well as more proactive.

Title: Crime and Justice

Absurd - I think that your absurd to make those assumptions from my straight forward and clear response to the person tagged as Tar Baby - Point is this young man may very well be innocent for this heinous crime - So lets not tie the noose until he has been given his day in Court - so Absurd its my hope that the Courts are objective - blind! and that the process doesnt take five years - That simple enough for you u grasp?

Title: Man Charged with slaying of mother

While we are all relieved to see another cold blooded criminal removed from the streets; when will we as a country enforce harsher punishment for gun possession and crime. We are loosing so many innocent hard working people to senseless killings and the perpetrators of these crimes receive bail. People it is time for our country to reassess this judicial system. Hats of to the police department ,but also lets be mindful of how we apprehend and obtain information in order to make an arrest. If we do it by unlawful means then we are no different than the ones we arrest.

its great to know the police have a suspect in custody but the fact that the young man needs to see a doctor should raise some concerns.in this day and age we still are face with police officers beating peolpe.surely something is wrong if the police who are the ones who should uphold the laws of the country are the ones breaking the very same laws.'' POLICE BRUTALITY''

Title: Absurd

It is truly difficult to digest the writings of Hank. I would like to commend the police for a wonderful job in identifying and bringing this waste before the courts. I am cinfident that the police have obtained sufficient evidence to prefer charges against this chap. I also question those folks who are so eager to criticize the police, obviously they have some criminal intent. In my view people who dislike the police and authority are CRIMINALS. In order for a productive and successful country to exist law and order must be the order of the day. And the ones responsible for this function is law enforcement. I wonder if some brutal crime was perpetrated against the writer Hank, who would he call on? Lets be sensible Bahamians and support LAW ENFORCEMENT...

Title: A country lost to crime and cprruption

I have no faith in the Bahamas Police/authorities. It's amazing how they have arrived at a suspect in this case already, like they are experts in CSI - clearly not! I pray that the accused have God on his side because, the mere fact that he is bringing up blood in the courtroom is clear evidence that he was brutally beaten by corrupted Bahamian police officers. The Bahamas has really lost its charm and also respect: but who can you blame, if the 'powers to be' cannot be trusted! It's truly a young dying NATION - so SAD!!!
