CAPTION: INTO THE BLUE: The free-form pool at the Turnberry development
An 80-unit townhome development in the 75-acre Charlotteville residential community, whose lots are 100 per cent sold, will have its official opening tonight.
Kendal Wright, MP for Clifton, is scheduled to deliver remarks at a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Turnberry town home development fin western New Providence. The ceremony will begin at 6pm.
"We are hearing overwhelming, positive feedback, and there is a good deal of buzz in the marketplace," said Carmen Massoni, founder and president of Bahama Islands Realty, which scheduled the events.
"We have sold four townhomes in the past month alone. The interest that has been demonstrated already in Charlotteville is an indication of two things - increased activity in the real estate market, and an appreciation of the value of the Charlotteville and Turnberry development which has so much going for it - the feel of a country club with large, free-form pool, tennis, beach volleyball, walking trails, lush landscaping, clubhouse.
"Plus the design of the town homes is such that everyone feels like they are part of a community. There's a real sense of neighbourhood, with the open central green space as a natural park."
The town home segment of the development is made up of 40 buildings consisting of 80 units on eight acres. Units consist of 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathrooms, with prices starting at $549,000.
"In addition to purchasing completed town homes, we're offering another exciting option. Buyers are free to purchase shells of the units, providing owners an opportunity to add personal style and design elements to the home in its final stages," says Massoni. "There is also a lease-to-own program."
As a follow up to the grand opening, an open house is scheduled for Saturday, March 20, from 10am-6pm.
Visitors will have a chance to tour the model townhome and the surrounding community of Turnberry.
"As an added bonus, the developer is offering discounts of up to $30,000, which can be applied to the purchase price of any unit during the open house," says Ms Massoni. "We've also established a lease-to-own programme, and are eager to discuss special incentives for first time buyers."
