EDITOR, The Tribune.
IN 1992 when the FNM was elected as the Government of the Bahamas, it is obvious that they have done much more for the Bahamian people than the PLP and have proven to be a much better Government.
First there was the monumental task of having to restore the good name of our country which was destroyed by the PLP. Trust had to be restored before investors would consider investing in this country ever again. As investors came, the job opportunities became available.
The Out Islands were provided with necessities such as electricity, paved roads, proper telephone service and proper running water, things the PLP failed to provide in 30 years. After being hit be a hurricane, the FNM hit the ground quickly assisting those most in need. Exuma became a little island with a booming economy.
New schools were built to address the overcrowding of classrooms.
Clinics were built to assist the sick who had to wait for hours at Princess Margaret Hospital. Libraries were built to assist students to have greater access to knowledge.
Low cost homes were built to help the middle class and poor Bahamian to afford to own a home. Real property tax was made exempt for all homes valued under $100,000.
When 911 affected the entire world the FNM put financial structures in place to keep the country afloat until such time as things would improve.
Now in their third term the FNM continues to prove a better government. The straw market is being rebuilt at a reasonable cost. Road improvements have begun. The restructuring of downtown will begin soon. An unemployment benefit has been introduced to help those out of work for a certain period of time. The scholarship programme remains available for those who qualify. More money has been allocated for social services. Bahamians are able to see what the money from the treasury is being spent on.
Compare this to the PLP party which consists of some persons who believe they are entitled to get rich at the expense of this country and some children of MPS who believe since daddy got rich, I am entitled to as well.
The PLP during their last term appointed many committees of which we have yet to hear one solution to any problem.
They continue to brag about the urban renewal project which failed since conception.
If one compared the two parties and were honest they would see that the FNM has been and will continue to be the better government for the Bahamas without a doubt.

Title: The Mirror Of Change
The Bahamas is in for a series of rude awakenings as the table is completely set for a meal which will certainly leave a bitter taste in the mouths of those who refused, failed, denied and care little to see where the stench came from in the kitchen. Haughtiness and lack of compassion continues with a wave of reckoning approaching dare to willfully defraud persons of the freedom to live with dignity in the country of their birth deserve whatever they see unfolding. The very promises of change and trust mentioned lacked integrity to settle the scores. How can any one in authority expect to go under the radar when they intentionally cause others to suffer because of indifference and lacking the courage to stand up and say no to anything that would cause the country to appear more shitty than it has been shown already.

Title: Reform of PLP badly needed... even if you are happy with the FNM.
And at the same time, pray for a reform of the PLP. If they continue the way they are and we have no 'valid' opposition, then the FNM will fall into bad ways, just as the PLP and UBP before them did. Democracy works when the citizens make sure that the both the government and the opposition are 'responsible' and 'effective'. That way, the opposition demands transparency and accountability on behalf of the people and the government is kept on their toes. In this situation, 10 more years of FNM rule without any 'viable' PLP opposition will allow the FNM to get just as fat and lazy as the PLP cronies they are 'cleaning' up after became after Independence. Human nature is human nature - black, white, Chinese, FNM, PLP it makes no difference. Power corrupts and unchecked power corrupts completely.
I agree with the letter, the FNM are the obvious choice, but I would add... for now. I think Ingraham would be happy with such an observation. I don't think Christie would be ... that is the difference.

Title: fnm great governance
A wonderfully written article, and I fully endorse it! Any forward thinking citizen of the Bahahmas, who is honest will know and see that this Government is not about ALL FOR ME, rather all about trying to repair and clean up our image, after the Fatal PLP invasion. May God speak to the hearts of all Bahamians, especially those who call themselves christians, to see the tru value in our current Government and vote them back in again, so that the good work can continue, and so that more Bahamians can begin to reap the benefits of the great changes. Oh and you forgot to mention the appointment of Mr Greenslade, a highly intelligent and qualified individual who knows how to get the job done. Ingraham only works with people, who want to work, not those who want to gloat and boast and boost their own egos! That is a true leader! Branville's appointments tells you that when Ingraham sees talent, he puts those individuals in certain positions to test their strengths and endurance..he knows what he is doing, and when the time is right, he makes the right moves. Never mind the noise in the market folks! FNM is the only choice we have right now! Lend your support Bahamas and help take this country to another level! God bless you all!
