THE BIG yard is the host island for this year's ACM (Anglican Church Men) Conference which began yesterday at the St Margaret's Parish in North Andros where Fr Shazz Turnquest is the priest in charge. Prior to last evening's official opening ceremony done by Bishop Laish Boyd, the men engaged in a community project The theme for the conference is Anointed and Commissioned to Serve.

Today, the business session and the AGM will convene. This year, the ratification of the organisation constitution and reports from various executive officers are top of the agenda. President of the ACM Council, Kevin Ryan said, "At this year's AGM we are looking forward to the input of the delegates to move the organisation forward."

The Ministry of Tourism will host a reception for the delegates tonight beginning at 7pm. On Friday workshops will be facilitated by Rodney Williams and Rev Fr Mervyn Buck Johnson. The mid-day masses will be done by Fr Shazz Turnquest and Fr Ethan Ferguson- rector of St Stephens Parish.

The delegation will then leave on Sunday for their various parishes with a renewed spirit of commitment and a servant heart to enhance the visibility of the organisation and ensure that it's mandate is carried out. Conference Chairman Ken Obrien said, " I am looking forward to this year's conference, there were some challenges but in all things we give God thanks. I wanted this year's conference to be a little different in that the business section/AGM is

done early which will allow the men to get involved in community activities thus paving a way for community service which we intend to do. I also would like to see a follow up committee formed whereby all suggestions and information is gathered and filtered to the branches for their action. North Andros be ready here we come."
