" For me sexy goes beyond pretty or ugly, its an attitude, its a personal characteristic, it's a physical feature, its the way she looks at me, its what she does that arouses my interest," said Jason Taylor.
There is no fixed definition for what is classified as sexy, it's a subjective thing since what one man might consider sexy might not be appealing to another.
Tribune Woman recently sat down with several young men in an effort to find the true definition of the word - sexy. Their overall conclusion - it goes beyond a high cleavage, or a "apple bottom", but is a state of mind adopted by a woman that comes across alluring.
For a woman to be as appealing as ever she must think sexy, believe that she is, and act as though she is ," Jason said. "Confidence is very sexy. She doesn't have to be a beauty queen gorgeous, but if she has high thoughts about herself that is sexy to me ," he said.
But when this high self image becomes narcissistic he agrees that it is without a doubt a turn off.
"A women who is conceited or vain to me loses the beauty that she has. It's okay if she thinks that she is nice looking but if she is self absorbed then she becomes unattractive," he said.
Among other personal traits, Jason said he finds a woman with a sense of humor very amusing, since he as a very funny person wants a lady that can take a joke and pull a solid punch line as well.
For David Smith*, an intelligent woman is captivating.
"I like a woman who can hold a decent conversation. One who can articulate herself on any subject matter, to me this is very sexy", he said.
Interestingly enough the men said that a woman who can "kick back, relax, and chill with the boys" is something they also find engaging.
"A woman who can hang with me and my friends and not be stuck up is very cool. I don't want a lady that can't be comfortable around my friends this is not attractive to me," Jason said.
Walter Lightbourne* added that a woman who can sit down and watch a game of basketball, or football gains extra brownie points.
"She doesn't necessarily have to have an interest in any sports but that fact that she can sit down with me and watch a basketball game is attractive to me," Walter said.
It's impossible to talk about sexy and not mention what men find physically attractive. And while physical attractiveness is superficial, however this quality reigns supreme.
When each of the men were asked what it was that they found sexy in a woman, the first answer they give referred to a physical attribute of a woman.
To understand why this happened Ken Burrows* explained: "To simply put it men are physical, we are visual creatures there is no way to get around this our interest is aroused by what we see," he said.
With that being said he went on to explain that a lady sporting a sexy pair of dazzling 4 inch stilettos, clad in a tightly fitting knee length dress with her décolleté exposed is more than just cute but magnetic.
"Its something about the way a woman's leg looks in high heel shoes that makes her so alluring," he told Tribune Woman.
Hair whether long, short, straight, or curly, is probably one of the sexiest physical traits about a woman.
"It really doesn't matter to me how long or short her hair may be. It depends on the style that she has her hair in because some women look better with short hair and others look better with long hair ," Walter said.
But a well portioned physique is first in line when it comes to sexiness.
A secret that most women probably don't know is that some men prefer a woman with a makeup free face since this is more sexy than defined eyebrows, coloured lips and rosy pink cheeks.
"I don't like my lady to be wearing makeup all the time. To me its not sexy because I want to see what's under the makeup. I want see how she really looks, flaws and all," Jason said.
It's a combination of who one is and how that person presents themselves to the world. And as mention before "sexiness" is a state of mind, think it to be it!
