OVER the past ten years the name Sebas has quickly gone from obscurity to a household name.

For those on the party scene in the 242, two major events will instantly come to mind, Sebas' Birthday Weekend and Sebas' Christmas Party.

Both events have grown to become somewhat of a natural part of the Bahamian entertainment scene over the last decade.

According to organisers, one of the major contributing factors to the popularity of Mr Bastian's celebrations is the constant improvement of the events year after year.

Both events have evolved from mere parties to massive concerts and sail-aways, all geared towards the ultimate entertainment satisfaction of the attendees.

With this year being the tenth anniversary, Sebas started his 30th birthday weekend a bit earlier with an intimate cocktail party at Luciano's of Chicago on the night of August 12.

The event was a by-invitation only, intended for Sebas' relatives, closest friends and business associates. Some of the more notable faces to be seen at the party were local businessman Craig Flowers and Bahamian rap superstar Sosa Man.

Providing the musical backdrop was DJ Mighty Pencil who kept the night's events moving with a tasteful selection of music. Guests partied until the restaurant closed its doors.

Next on the schedule was the big night - a party/concert featuring Vybz Kartel held at Luna Night Club.

In true Sebas fashion, the venue was completely transformed to match his vision to ensure the satisfaction of his guests.

A large elevated VIP pavilion was set up in the centre of the crowd area. Plush leather couches were placed within the pavilion and in the upstairs VIP areas.

Six fully stocked bars located around the club were prepped to deal with the masses.

The all-star deejay lineup which kept the crowd dancing all night included DJs Chronic, Flex, Pencil and Barry Pusher.

When it seemed that the building was filled to capacity, the birthday boy himself took to the stage accompanied by what he considers his theme song, "I want to be a billionaire" by Travie McCoy. He then turned the show back over to DJ Pencil who introduced Vybz Cartel.

The show wrapped up around 4.30am.

A few hours afterwards, the next event of the birthday weekend, the sail-away, got underway at Colonial Beach.

Many of the concert attendees made their way over to the island to enjoy the festivities, which culminated with a dance competition for all the female party guests.

At the end of the dance-off the most flexible and rhythmically inclined woman won $500 in cash. As the sun began to set, the boats took the party guests back to the mainland, bringing Sebas' 30th birthday weekend to a close.
