* Casting call for the 2011 Kalik
calendar shoot
Saturday, August 28, is the deadline for sending in photos to enter in the 2011 Kalik calendar shoot.
Selected models will be featured in the 2011 Kalik Calendar photographed in the Bahamas.
Kalik is looking for female models of all sizes; they must be 18 or older and will be used in the promotion of Kalik beer. Interested persons are asked to send in three photos: One head shot with no make-up and two full body shots of the model wearing a two-piece swimsuit.
Entries should included contact details, date of birth and measurements, and if the person has any previous modelling experience.
They should be sent to models@profiles98.com or be dropped off at Burns House on Thompson Boulevard.

* The BIFF Big Screen Art Scene Fundraiser at
Old Fort Bay
The Bahamas International Film Festival Big Screen Art Scene Fundraiser kicks off BIFF's seventh year with a non-traditional auction and celebration at the Old Fort Bay Club at 7pm.
Over 36 different artists and crafts persons will display their works for auction.
Participants can win an auction and take home a piece of original art by buying one of BIFF's collectors tickets for $300 Guest tickets at $50.

* Kishan Munroe's closing presentation at the Central Bank exhibition
Art enthusiasts are invited to join Kishan Munroe in the foyer of the Central Bank of the Bahamas at 6pm as he examines the universal human experience with his "Transitions" exhibition closing presentation, "Arts of The Americas"
The exhibit, which is the summation of a 16-month expedition of the Americas, runs through August 27.

Instructor Sue Bennett-Williams will be teaching pottery classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced potters every Tuesday from 7pm - 9.30pm.
