The regular season is in full swing, and as teams jostle for late season seeding and playoff positioning, the New Providence Softball Association has begun preparations for its annual All-Star Classic.

The league has officially released the names of its four all-star squads, two mens and two ladies, which will highlight the

the weekend's festivities.

Both games are scheduled for Saturday, September 4th, with the ladies contest at 7pm and the men following with the nightcap at 8:30pm.

Each team will be named after a local softball icon with the women honouring Jeannie Minus and Linda Ford and the men paying homage to Dencil Clarke and the recently passed Ron Wood.

In the men's division, the leading Commando Security Truckers at 11-1 boast four all-stars and manager Philip Rolle who will head the 'Ron Wood' team.

Dorsey Park will field a division high seven all stars, the Dorin Hitmen four and the New Breed three.

In the ladies division, the league leading Proper Care Pool Lady Sharks at 10-2 will field nine all-stars and manager Stephen Beneby will head the Linda Ford team.

The Brackettes and Wildcats will both boast six all-stars, the Operators with five and four from the winless Black Scorpions.

League play continues tonight with a double header featuring the Del Sol Arawaks against the Y-II Shipping New Breed in the men's feature and the Black Scorpions against the Proper Care Pool Lady Sharks in the ladies matchup at 8:30pm.

The all-star schedule begins on Friday with the Legends facing off against the Executives at 6:30pm, followed by a regular season ladies matchup between the Boomer G Operators and the Proper Care Pool Lady Sharks and mens matchup between The Mighty Mitts and Del Sol Arawaks.
