IT just gets better and better ... for the SEVENTH year in a row, The Tribune's circulation continues to grow.

With average weekly sales up THREE PER CENT over this time last year, The Tribune races ahead with our competitors still in the starting blocks.

Official figures show more and more people are joining The Tribune family to read the stories that matter.

Our circulation is DOUBLE our nearest competitor on Mondays and Thursdays, and THREE TIMES as much every other day.

And The Tribune's Thursday circulation reached a record high of over 21,000 papers several weeks ago.

Unlike some other publications which masquerade as "newspapers", The Tribune is packed every day with local news, local features, local business and local sport.

We're the best in print ... and the best online too.

In its first year of operation, Tribune242.com has experienced tremendous growth, becoming the top source of verified Bahamian news available on the internet.

Tribune242.com launched in early August 2009, and during its first full month online in September, there were 1,432,947 hits. Just one year later, traffic on Tribune242.com has grown 155 per cent to 3,645,785 hits during the month of August.

Web traffic is also best measured in terms of unique visitors and Tribune242.com has experienced a 140 per cent increase in the number of individuals visiting the site on a daily basis from 78,529 total last September to 187,555 for the month ending August 31.

"We are extremely proud to note the growth and development of Tribune242.com," said Jessica Robertson, Online Editor.

"We knew when we launched that we were providing an invaluable tool for thinking Bahamians both here and based overseas to keep up with what's happening in the country and also provide a forum for intelligent discourse on the issues and events that affect us, however none of us imagined we would be achieving this level of success already."

Thanking staff for their hard work and dedication, Tribune Managing Editor John Fleet said: "To have growth in print for seven years in a row is amazing. It's unheard of in the USA and the UK.

"Even though we're Number One, we don't rest on our laurels here at Shirley Street. Day in, and day out, we give our readers what they want, the figures prove it ... but at the same time we're also planning for the future. The initiatives we have in the pipeline will keep us in the top spot for a long time to come."

The Tribune - the people's paper, the biggest and the best.
