PRIVATE discussions between a Supreme Court judge and the attorneys in a 2010 bank robbery trial will conclude today when the judge returns with a decision based on those discussions.

Testimony in the trial of 36-year-olds Garth Hall and Sean Lightbourne was expected to begin on Tuesday, April 10.

However, defence attorneys and the prosecution have been in ongoing discussions with Justice Bernard Turner for just under two weeks.

The jury was ordered to return on Monday, April 23.

Hall, of Roland Street, Ridgeland Park; and Lightbourne of Rugby Drive, Winton Meadows, are accused of robbing Sandyport First Caribbean International Bank on July 28, 2010.

It is claimed the two men, while armed with a handgun and an AK-47 assault rifle, held up and robbed two branch employees of $30,317.

They are also accused of shooting at two police officers and causing damage to a police vehicle.

The men are further charged with stealing a 1998 Nissan Cefiro, reportedly used to get away from police.

Murrio Ducille represents Lightbourne while Ian Cargill is defending Hall.
