EDITOR, The Tribune.
Please publish the following letter of appreciation, which I sent to Sister Murray, Ward Administrator, of the Male Orthopaedic Ward (Granville Bain Ward) of the Princess Margaret Hospital
Dear Ms Miller,
I have benefited from the professional service and care that has been provided by several of the fine employees of the Male Orthopaedic Ward of the Princess Margaret Hospital. After spending months on end between the Princess Margaret Hospital and the Rand Memorial Hospital over the past two years and receiving substandard care and service it was refreshing to be on this ward with a caring, dedicated, compassionate, caring and efficient team.
I have spent the past three and a half months on the Male Orthopaedic Ward and during this period I would be wrong if I did not recognize the invaluable service provided by the following individuals: Charge Nurse A. Farquharson, Nurses M. Roper, N. Yntig, L. Johnson and Arthur. These professionals were assisted by Trained Clinical Nurses P. Burrows, R. Ferguson, S. Stubbs, C. Russell and Mickus, Senior TCN C. Hepburn, Auxiliary Nurses V. Moxey and Y. Smith. Special recognition must be given to Attendant D. Bascom who provided excellent care during my post operation days and provided not only personalized care but also spiritual support, encouragement and guidance.
Special thanks to Dr V Grimes, Dr D. Farquharson and their respective teams of physicians for their care, professional courtesy and treatment during these long months of prolonged hospitalization.
Additionally kudos go out to the following student Nurses Stuart (ray of sunshine), Rolle (my arguing buddy) and Dorsett (minus the E Miss soft spoken), if they continue to perform as they are they too will be a credit to the profession of Nursing.
These individuals provide an excellent service to the patients of this institution. These are true ambassadors of the hospital and must be commended for their stellar performance and excellence in service. I recommend these employees for any type of award or recognition that is afforded to employees of the institution and congratulate them and indeed offer my thanks for their invaluable service and care.
