Armed robbery at store

FREEPORT - Grand Bahama Police are investigating an armed robbery at Butler's Food World on the West Mall Drive.

According to reports, two gunmen held up employees at the store around closing time on Wednesday evening.

Asst Supt Loretta Mackey reported that just before 9pm, two men with handguns entered the establishment and demanded cash.

The culprits were of slim build and wearing black clothing.

After robbing the store, they fled heading south on foot.

The Central Detective Unit is investigating the matter and appealing to the public for assistance.

Ms Mackey said anyone who was in the area at that time of the robbery and may have noticed the culprits walking towards the store or running away, should call police on 350-3107/8, 352-9774/5 or 911.
