Friday is the public launch date for the new James Bond film “Skyfall”. Its public debut at Galleria Cinemas, Marathon Mall, will follow an ultra exclusive “invitation only” premiere event tonight.
The Bahamas’ very own “who is who” is expected to attend the Heineken sponsored VIP event under the stars, with music provided by the Ambassah band, which will feature bond songs of past and the new Skyfall theme song.
The weekly Bond Movie Nites wrapped up last week with a showing of Casino Royale. Now Bond fans can turn their attention to Skyfall, the twenty-third spy film in the James Bond series, produced by Eon Productions and distributed by MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
It features Daniel Craig’s third performance as James Bond, and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film’s villain. The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
In the film Bond investigates an attack on MI6; it transpires that it is part of an attack on M by former MI6 operative, Raoul Silva. The film sees the return of two recurring characters after an absence of two films: Q, played by Ben Whishaw, and Miss Moneypenny, played by Naomie Harris.
