• BEC CHAIRMAN Lesley Miller said two thirds of New Providence has power, with full power expected to be restored by 6pm.

• The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA is STRONGLY advising motorists and pedestrians to avoid that stretch of West Bay Street from Sandy Port to the Caves, as well as West Bay Street and Nassau Street near Junkanoo Beach due to waves from the strong winds crashing over the shoreline.

A hurricane warning remains in effect for the following islands in the Northwest Bahamas including Grand Bahama, Bimini, Abaco, The Berry Islands, Eleuthera and New Providence.

Hurricane warning means that hurricane conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.

Tropical storm warning is in effect for the Central Bahamas, which includes Exuma, Cat Island, Rum Cay, San Salvador and Long Island and Andros in the Northwest Bahamas.
