NPBA ACTION
The BTC Digitals and the Mail Boat Cybots won the New Providence Basketball Association’s double header on Saturday night at the CI Gibson Gymnasium. The results of their games are as follows:
Digitals 118, Rockets 105: Cordero Thompson scored a side high 30 points with 10 points to lead five other players on double figures. Lorenzo Carter had 18 points with six assists; Danon Carter had 15 points with six rebounds; both Renard Minus and Perez Thompson had 14 points and Lloyd Bailey added 12 points.
In a losing effort, Adorn Charlow had a game high 35 points and 15 rebounds; Tameko Moxey had 26 points; Jamar Bain and Henderson Curry both had 12 points with eight and seven rebounds and Demetri Mackey added 11 points with eight assists.
Cybots 78, Caribs 62: Eugene Bain scored 20 pointd with seven rebounds; Garvin Lightbourne scored 14 points; Robert Missick had 11 points and Ahmad Bootle chipped in with 10 points.
For the Caribs, Roland Horton scored 20 points with seven rebounds; Rueben Goodman had 14 points with seven rebounds and Avano Laing had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The NPBA will resume play tonight with another double header. At 7:30 pm., the BTC Digitals will play the RBPF Crimestoppers. That will be followed by the Double R Services Cleaners against the Real Deal Shockers. The final two games in the regular season will be played on Wednesday with the Pyramid Food Rockets against the Commonwealth Bank Giants at 7:30 pm, followed by the Y-Care Wreckers against the Mail Boat Cybots.

BAISS FINALS
THE Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools will begin their best-of-three basketball championship series in the junior girls and boys and senior girls and boys today at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
On Thursday, the BAISS completed its sudden death playoffs last week at the gym. The senior boys game between the defending champions St. Augustine’s College Big Red Machine and arch rivals St. John’s Green Giants ended up in a brawl after the final buzzer sounded.
St Augustine’ College Big Red Machine won the game 47-46 and will now face the m pennant winning Queen’s College Comets.
In the senior girls division, the Big Red Machine routed the Giants 42-7 to clinch their berth into the final. SAC will now play Temple Christian Suns in the final.
The junior boys division saw St. John’s eliminate SAC 57-49. The Giants will now play the Comets from Queen’s College.
And in the junior girls division, the Kingsway Academy Saints will take on SAC. Game time is 4 pm.
Game two is scheduled for Tuesday. If necessary, they will play game three on Wednesday.
VOLLEYBALL
NPVA FINALS
THE New Providence Volleyball Association opened its 2012/13 volleyball’s best-of-five championship series on Sunday at the DW Davis Gymnasium.
In the ladies’ division, the pennant winning Johnson’s Lady Truckers will play the defending champions Scottsdale Vixens. In the men’s series the Technicians will take on the defending champions Scotia Bank Defenders. Sunday’s scores in the first two games in the two series were unavailable. Game two will be played on Wednesday, starting at 7:30 pm.
