A NASSAU resident believes police aren’t tackling the issue of dump trucks laden with quarry and pea rock travelling at speed along John F Kennedy Drive and Windsor Road.
It comes after her windshield was shattered by debris from one of the trucks on the route.
Then police told her that trucks should have a covering over their loads and that they were booking truck drivers who do not comply with the law.
However, she said yesterday that most of the dump trucks she sees are still uncovered.
She saw three trucks drive past the airport police station yesterday with heavy loads uncovered and she saw no police come out to book them.
One of the trucks had a large rock on the top of its load that could have tumbled off onto another vehicle, she fears.
She spotted another rock, about 6” x 6”, on the side of the road, which she believes could have come off a truck.
The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, also said that the licence plates on most of the trucks she has seen are “indistinguishable” and that one of the trucks in front of her turned off the main road onto a side road without using its turning signal.
