THE Rotary Club of East Nassau has continued its long-standing relationship with the Bahamas Association for the Physically Handicapped with a donation $14,000 for the purchase of 100 new wheelchairs.
At the presentation ceremony, held at the BAPD headquarters on Dolphin Drive, Bahamian sailing legend Sir Durward Knowles thanked Rotary for their continued support and the directors and staff of the BAPD for their hard work and dedication to the cause of assisting the physically disabled in the Bahamas.
He also thanked Michele Rassin, vice-president of marketing and business development of Ports International, which supplied the wheelchairs.
The wheelchairs will be distributed throughout Nassau and the Family Islands.
