The multi-million dollar renovation of Paradise Island’s Comfort Suites resort was yesterday said to be nearing completion, with the property already getting high marks from travel partners and guests alike. What has been billed as the most comprehensive refurbishment since Comfort Suites’ opening is generating positive feedback, with most of its 232 Junior Suites already complete.
The renovation features new bedding, sofa beds, draperies, lamps, notable artwork and plush area rugs installed in the bedrooms, while guest bathrooms received new granite counter tops and soft mirror lighting.
Other enhancements include meeting room refurbishments. The hotel’s three meeting rooms - the Hummingbird, Flamingo and Pelican - have been upgraded in appearance and functionality, including carpets, lighting and state-of-the-art meeting and banquet equipment.
A new business centre has been added, and an on-property sales office set up to provide high level service to local corporate meetings and the group events markets. “We are very proud of the great feedback guests have always given us about our hotel,” said William Naughton, founder of Comfort Suites Paradise Island. “We have very loyal guests, so customer input is extremely valuable to us and we considered it every step of the way in how we took on this massive refresh.” Employees benefited from training courses developed in conjunction with Atlantis University. Each of Comfort Suites’ more than 110 employees has now completed courses in the comprehensive training programme. “The Comfort Suites Paradise Island employees are already well-recognised for their outstanding service, but we believe in the power of continual improvement,” said Earle Bethell, the new general manager.
“The renovations and extensive training programme have given the staff a renewed sense of purpose and pride in welcoming our guests each day.” As a result of the recent changes, and increasingly favourable customer comment surveys, TripAdvisor awarded the coveted ‘Certificate of Excellence’ to the hotel after more than 1,000 praiseworthy comments were generated for the property on the TripAdvisor website in less than a six month period.
