Major Nassau/Paradise Island hotels are reporting high occupancies for the Easter holiday period, one executive confirming to Tribune Business yesterday that it was seeing strong performance from its leisure business for the Spring Break/Easter period.
Ed Fields, senior vice-president of public affairs and retail services at Atlantis, told Tribune Business: “We are set to have a very strong Easter/Passover week. The property will be running very high occupancy, and we are seeing stronger performance from our leisure business for the Spring Break/Easter time period.”
Jermaine Wright, the British Colonial Hilton’s director of operations, described the hotel’s business as “positive”, a trend it hoped would continue through the Easter holiday period.
“British Colonial Hilton Nassau business is positive and we hope the trend continues through the upcoming Easter holiday period, with individual guests coming to enjoy some beach-front relaxation and events hosted by those coming to celebrate special occasions with us,” said Mr Wright.
“Being a favoured property for Bahamians looking for a holiday getaway, we will once again be providing a special local residents rate for the holiday weekend.”
Sandals Royal Bahamian’s general manager, Patrick Drake, said the all-inclusive resort on Cable Beach was also seeing good business for April.
“We’re looking good through the remainder of April. We’re aren’t full, I can say that, but we are seeing some good business for April. We have our reunion weekend coming up which tends to give us a bit of a boost. Return guests are an important part of our business,” said Mr Drake.
