I think it is only fitting that this very important topic be fully debated and should also culminate in a people’s referendum wherein a similarly worded question might be put to the Bahamian people, as was put in the web shop referendum. Something like: “Do you agree that the growing, refining and distribution of marijuana for medical purposes should be regulated and taxed by the government?”
If there is a NO VOTE by the people then whoever is moved to produce and sell this stuff should be able to do with impunity and anyone serving time for marijuana use/distribution should be released forthwith.
