A MAN faces up to seven years in jail if convicted of the charges against him of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Pierre Watson, 24, of Flamingo Avenue, appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney yesterday and pleaded not guilty to charges of gun and ammunition possession on August 12.
On the day in question, police conducted a search of a Honda Civic, which reportedly belonged to the accused. Under the driver’s seat they found a .40 Glock pistol and nine live rounds of ammunition.
There was no objection to Watson being granted bail. He was given a bond of $7,500 with one suretor.
He was told that his bail would be revoked and he would be incarcerated if he failed to show up for his trial on November 14.
The magistrate added that Watson would be released only after the approval of his suretor and the signing of his bond.
Watson retained lawyer Phillip Hilton to defend him.
