IN ORDER to spread the good news about Jesus Christ to the unsaved, a group of young Christians know that they must move outside of the four walls of the church.

The concept for the latest instalment of the 4WallsDown Dance Party: Addiction 3 – an event geared towards the spiritual upliftment of young people – is built on the idea that in order for the lost to be saved, Christians must be willing to step out of their comfort zones.

Members of the 4Walls Down organisation, along with a number of local gospel recording artists, will be hosting Addiction 3, the group’s third annual Christian trance dance party on Friday, August 29.

The event will take place at Holy Trinity’s Activity Centre in Stapledon Gardens beginning 7pm.

“This is our third event and it is like a rave party with bright lights, neon sticks, stage diving, and at the same time it is a concert where young artists will perform. It is a fusion of those different elements,” said Keith Gray, Jr, a Marlin Award Winner who leads the 4WallsDown organisation.

“We are a Christian group and we market the event as a positive party so that we can attract the unchurched people. We want to preach the gospel of Christ and we believe in the hope of Christ. During the party we will also spread love and the message of God ‘s grace. People are not only going to have a whole new experience when they come, but they will also be given something special,” he told Tribune Religion.

Since 2012, Addiction has grown into a highly anticipated, end-of-summer event for over 950 teens and young adults. This year, 4WallsDown hopes to surpass their previous reach.

“The first event we held, we had about 300 people and the second one there were about 600 people who came out. With this event we are expecting close to a thousand people, and God willing we want to get just as much people this time around,” Mr Gray said.

The proceeds from the party will go toward funding the work of the organisation whose emphasis is in charitable services and community outreach throughout New Providence.

Along with high-energy performances from prominent young local artists, party-goers will have the opportunity to volunteer and learn more about 4WallsDown as well as other organisations on the island that provide outlets for personal, social and spiritual development.
Mr Gray leads a team of 25 young adults between the ages of 17 and 25 which has been in operation for a little less than two years and has worked with charities including the Children’s Emergency Hostel, the Nazareth Centre and most recently the Elizabeth Estate Children’s Home.

They have also served along with youth/missionary organisations such as the Bahamas Youth Network, Camp Bahamas and St Andrew’s Presbyterian Kirk.

During next Friday’s event there will be performances by local artists including Najie Dunn, MCK and Gospel Boys and music genres ranging from hip hop to techno and dubstep.

There will also be free glow sticks, prize giveaways and other surprises.

Doors will open at 7pm and admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the door; food will be available for purchase all night long.

Tickets can be purchased at SunTime’s Mall at Marathon location. For further information on Addiction or 4WallsDown, please contact Keith Gray at 4wallsdown@gmail.com.
