Every now and then reading the news I find out some things that I should have known but didn’t know before.

For instance, I always believed the PLP propaganda that the FNM was financed by the so-called Bahamian white knights. I was under the impression that the PLP was financed only by white foreigners like Harajchi and Nygard.

Then, lo and behold, one of the richest white knights, Rupert Roberts, announced that he was “no longer” financing the PLP because he got vex with them over this VAT thing! Now he’s supporting Bran. Eye-opener.

Then an FNM friend told me that a well-known white knight politician/businessman used to send a cheque every month to a top PLP back in the day! Both are now passed on so I won’t call their names. Eye-opener.

Then I discovered in all the talk about Governors General that the widow of a Prime Minister gets more pension money than the Governor General’s salary! How could that be?

All along I thought our Governors were well paid. Now I see that our Prime Ministers – all three of them – knew how to take care of themselves and their families but were not so caring about our heads of state. Eye-opener.
