A MAN convicted of conspiring to rob a John Bull retail store is seeking bail ahead of his substantive hearing before the Court of Appeal.

David Collins and his lawyer Geoffrey Farquharson appeared in the appellate court yesterday renewing their previous application made on October 22.

However, Mr Farquharson was not in possession of all of the complete six-month trial transcripts that he said were needed for both the bond application and the appeal against conviction.

The appellate court, having only recently received the transcripts, said it would provide copies of the transcripts that the lawyer said were not in his possession.

The case was stood down to December 4 to allow the Crown respondents an opportunity to file an affidavit in response to the bail application.

In October 2012, Collins and Jonathan Armbrister were convicted of conspiracy to commit armed robbery when jurors found Armbrister guilty by a count of 7-2 and were split, 6-3, on Collins.

Both men were found not guilty of armed robbery while Collins was also found guilty of causing damage and receiving.

Armbrister and Collins were sentenced to 25 and 20 years in prison respectively; however both have applied to challenge their conviction and sentence.

The appeals are being heard separately as Armbrister is represented by Jerome Roberts.

Meanwhile Perry "Vomit" Christie, Paul "Wannabe Banker" McWeeney and Richard "I Want Mine Too!" Demeritte are all strutting around like peacocks with upright full fanned tails when they should be charged, tried and sentenced to prison for many years for the role they each played at the Bank of The Bahamas in fleecing of mega millions from honest hard working struggling Bahamian taxpayers!
