A commemorative stamp featuring Atlantis was recently unveiled as part of a series developed by the General Post Office to mark the Ministry of Tourism?s 50th Year of tourism.
On hand to accept a custom printed and framed version of the stamp, which features the iconic Royal Towers, Atlantis’s 20th anniversary logo and the Ministry of Tourism?s 50th anniversary logo, was Atlantis senior vice-president of public affairs and retail, Ed Fields. F.
“Tourism has played an invaluable role in the successes this nation has achieved over the years, and we are truly grateful that we can say Atlantis had a hand in that. As we continue to celebrate our 20th anniversary, we reflect on the many successes us at Atlantis can, and do, proudly boast of,” said Mr Fields.
Atlantis has invested more than $2.5 billion over two decades, increasing its room count from about 1,100 in 1994 to 4,000 today.
The resort has grown its Bahamian workforce from 1,200 employees in 1994 to nearly 8,000 full-time employees, and contributes significantly to the country?s GDP.
Mr Fields accepted the honour during a brief ceremony at Pompey Square in Downtown Nassau.
