HOURS before she would have celebrated her 22nd birthday, Carmin Jean was stabbed to death during a domestic dispute with her boyfriend late Sunday night.

According to police the 30-year-old suspect, who is now in police custody, attempted to take his own life after Jean was stabbed five times.

The country’s murder count now stands at 103, according to The Tribune’s records.

According to reports, shortly before 9pm, Jean was involved in an argument with her boyfriend at their home on Alfred Way off Winders Terrace.

She was stabbed twice in the upper back, once in the right shoulder, once in the left shoulder and once in the abdomen, The Tribune was told.

She died on the scene.

Shortly after the murder, acting on intelligence, police went to a home located on Shrimp Road off Carmichael Road, where they found the suspect suffering from several self-inflicted stab wounds. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.

The suspect is also under heavy police guard.

Following her death, Jean’s friends and family expressed their hurt and anger on social media, for a woman who they said “was taken too soon”.

“Today was supposed to be your birthday,” a friend wrote on Jean’s Facebook page.

“So young, smart and vibrant, we had plans to celebrate your birthday but now your family is making funeral plans. A day of celebration turned into a day of mourning. Sleep on baby girl. We miss you and we love you.”

Jean was recently graduated from the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) and received a certificate in cosmetology.

Anyone with information on this murder is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously a 328-TIPS.

THEY AIN'T SERIOUS: YOU DO THE MATH! . Number of murders this year : 106 . Number of persons arrested and charged with murder : around 60 . Number of murder trials this year : around 10 . Meaning there are at least 40 persons who killed someone this ear who have not been charged. . Meaning there are at least 90 persons who have taken someone's life THIS YEAR and have not been brought to trial. . NOW ADD THE FIGURES FOR LAST YEAR: . Meaning there are also about 90 animals who have committed murder who have not faced justice.

GO A LIL BIT FURTHER: . HOW MANY PERSONS HAVE COMMITTED M U R D E R IN THE PAST TEN YEARS AND (1) HAVE EVER BEEN CHARGED (2) NEVER BEED BROUGHT TO TRIAL (3) HAVE NOT BEEN CONVICTED (4) HAVE NOT BEEN SENTENCED????? . I WAIT WHILE YOU COUNT MORE THAN 600. . LET TEN THOUSAND GALLONS OF RED PAINT FLOW FROM PARLIMENT SQUARE DOWN TO THE SEA UNTIL THESE JOKERS STOP THE KILLINGS IN THIS COUNTRY . “It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.” ― Voltaire . . “The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.” ― William Shakespeare, King Henry VI, Part . “rain slowly slides down the glass as if the night is crying.” ― Patricia Cornwell, Trace . “The police seemed to think I killed her, which is crazy, because I loved her like a thousand drops of blood dripping down a dagger.” ― Jarod Kintz, This Book Has No Title
