RESORTS World Bimini (RWB) has “adopted” the Louise McDonald High School and will be working closely with the school’s administrators to improve the academic experience of its students.
The first gift to the school under this new arrangement – five dozen lockers – was presented to Principal Wes Rolle.
“We are grateful for this gift of lockers, which I am sure will be put to good use by our students,” said Mr Rolle. “It is very encouraging to see a corporate citizen which is willing to give back to the development of our youth, and we look forward to working with Resorts World Bimini to help meet our goals in the future.”
High on the agenda for the RWB/Louise McDonald High School partnership is the establishment of a Junior Junkanoo programme on the island, along with other schools.
“Junior Junkanoo is known to encourage creativity, discipline and teamwork among other positive attributes,” said RWB General Manager Ray Valentino. “Resorts World Bimini is eager to be a part of any programme that fosters goodwill with the people of Bimini, so we consider this to be a worthwhile investment.”
The Louise McDonald High School is the only public high school in Bimini. Currently there are 75 students enrolled at the school.
