A MAN accused of aiding a fraud plot is set to return to Magistrate’s Court in a week to learn if he will be granted bail before of trial.
Troy Johnson, 38, of Cottonwood Street appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney yesterday where he pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud by false pretences and abetment to commit fraud by false pretences.
It is claimed that he, on September 4, conspired to commit fraud and facilitated Melissa Connolly in obtaining $2,510.20 from the Royal Bank of Canada by means of false pretences.
Connolly, 34, of Sea Breeze Drive, is awaiting trial on 27 charges of possession of a forged document, uttering a forged document, fraud by false pretences, attempted fraud by false pretences and conspiracy to commit fraud by false pretences.
It is alleged that Connolly possessed and used forged bank cheques drawn on the accounts of others to obtain more than $12,000. It is further alleged that she tried to obtain more than $5,000 under false pretences, but was unsuccessful.
Johnson was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until October 21.
