CBS Bahamas expands with brand showroom

Commonwealth Building Supplies (CBS) Bahamas last week unveiled a new showroom for its Kohler kitchens and bathrooms brand.

The new showroom, based at the CBS Bahamas Home Centre in the Southwest Plaza on Carmichael Road, features a variety of Kohler’s bathroom and kitchen collections, plus displays of faucets, sinks, baths, showers, accessories and parts.

The opening also celebrated the Kohler distributorship awarded to CBS Bahamas several months ago. Attendeed included many of the island’s architects, developers, contractors and plumbers, along with the minister of state for investments, Khaalis Rolle.

Also present were Kohler’s manager for the Caribbean and Central America, Philip Almeida; Kohler’s associate market analyst, Marla Abstetar; and Kolher’s sales executive for the Caribbean, Roberto Riolobos.

“It’s always uplifting for me when I can witness the success of a Bahamian business,” Mr Rolle said. “I can recall when CBS was a little store on Robinson Road. Now they’ve grown into a magnificent mega-store, offering much more than building supplies to the Bahamian public.”

He added: “The expansion of the CBS brand, especially at this time in our economy, should be testimony that the Bahamian economy is recovering.

“The principals of CBS Bahamas are demonstrating their confidence by further investing in their company, providing more choices for their customers as well as job opportunities for our young people....

“This type of Bahamian investment in the Bahamian economy is what the Bahamian government tries to encourage. Through policy and legislation we’re attempting to create an environment where more Bahamians can achieve what CBS has been able to.”

With CBS Bahamas’ president, John Treco, and’ vice-president and managing director, Brent Burrows ,alongside, Mr Rolle cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the showroom.

Kohler’s Mr Almeida said: “Our primary goal in adding distribution in the Bahamas was to increase the Kohler and Sterling brand awareness through retail and trade channels in the Bahamas and the Caribbean as a whole.

“But Kohler does not just partner with anyone. We have a very long history of practicing selective distribution in all our markets. CBS Bahamas was selected as our choice because of their professionalism, vast loyal customer base, their eagerness to take their business to the next level and make the necessary investments to bring ‘The Bold Look of Kohler’ to every Bahamian home for years to come.”

Mr Burrows said: “We’re immensely proud to have Kohler and Sterling in our stable of world class brands. Being the official distributor enables us to offer excellent prices.

“Now there’s no need to go shopping in Florida. Our showroom and landed prices are clearly that good. If you are designing, renovating or building, with our new relationship with Kohler, we can offer even better special project rates.”

CBS Bahamas’ Home Centre is open from 8am to 8pm on weekdays; to 9pm on Saturdays; and from 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
