Say no to BEC increase

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I am surprised and disappointed about the increase of approximately $30 per consumer on their future billings.

As one of these consumers,I find it necessary to voice my concern and disapproval of this proposal.

The Bahamas is a country of hard working citizens of all ages. However, many of these hard working Bahamians today face difficult circumstances financially and do not have a lot of money at their disposal.

This service provided by BEC-poor at its best – we all know is a necessity and very vital to the lives of our customers, but without the extra funds how can customers afford this extra cost.

Most Bahamians today completely depend on their NIB pension because they have no other means of income to meet this increased cost in their BEC bill.

As a people we need to stop being complacent about these egregious issues facing us, complain to our elected representatives, and show some concern about the consequences of this increase.
