Armed robbery suspect faces court

THREE men and a juvenile were charged in separate matters, including armed robbery, housebreaking, stealing and burglary, in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Wesley Munnings, 25, of Malibu Reef, Freeport, was arraigned on the charge of armed robbery before Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in court one.

The charge is in connection with an alleged incident on September 12. Munnings was not required to enter a plea and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until November 12, when a preliminary inquiry will be held.

In another matter, Christopher Ferguson, 27, of Lunar Boulevard, Freeport, was charged with several offences, including two counts of housebreaking and stealing, stealing from a vehicle and burglary and stealing.

He appeared in court two before Magistrate Charlton Smith, where he pleaded guilty to all the charges that stem from incidents that occurred between September 10 and 16 in the Bahama Terrace and Caravel Beach areas.

Magistrate Smith sentenced Ferguson to 24 months in prison at Her Majesty’s Prison, Fox Hill.

Marcus Dickenson, 18, of Caravel Beach, Freeport, was charged with a 16-year-old boy, with stealing from a dwelling house at Caravel Beach on September 4.

The two were arraigned before Magistrate Smith when they pleaded guilty. Dickenson was sentenced to six months in prison at HMP and the juvenile was committed for the same period to the Simpson C Penn School for Boys.
