A MAN was killed and three people, including a PLP campaign general, are in hospital after a shooting in Fox Hill on Saturday night.

Although police have not released the identity of the murder victim, The Tribune understands he is 36-year-old Ricardo Moss.

A Tribune source confirmed that one of the other victims, Carlos Lamm, was shot in the stomach during the incident and underwent surgery yesterday. Lamm was in charge of Education Minister Jerome Fitzgerald’s 2012 election campaign in the Marathon constituency. He also worked to get the PLP’s North Abaco by-election candidate, Renardo Curry elected.

In February 2013, Lamm was sentenced to one year in prison having been convicted of drug possession with intent to supply.

Lamm’s company, JFK Construction, was given contracts worth more than $100,000 for school repairs by the government shortly after the 2012 general election.

According to police reports, around 10pm at Grace Terrace, off Bernard Road, a 36-year-old man was sitting with a woman and two other men at a local business when a gunman opened fire on them.

One of the men was shot in the head, the woman in her thigh, a second man was shot in his leg and the third man in his stomach.

They were all taken to hospital in a private vehicle. However, the man who was shot in his head did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The other victims, whose conditions were previously listed as serious, were listed as stable up to press time.

This latest shooting in the Fox Hill community prompted its member of Parliament, Fred Mitchell, to release a statement that he was “deeply saddened” to learn of another tragic shooting in his constituency.

“I express my condolences to the family of the deceased and pray for the recovery of those who were injured. It is very sad. I pledge to continue to work to bring about peace in Fox Hill and all of our neighbourhoods,” Mr Mitchell said.

Moss’ death brought the year’s murder count to 89, according to The Tribune’s records.

We can't make this stuff up. Are they campaigning for the FNM with their headlines?

Actually Lamm was in the headlines shortly after the election as he was given these contracts while his drug case was still before the courts. I don't think this stuff is made up. These are facts. It's the way of the PLP - friends, family, lovers. Cronyism at its finest.
