THREE men were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison yesterday after being arraigned in connection with last week’s $570,000 drug raid in Coral Harbour.

Scott Hepburn, Antonio King and Crispond Basden denied the possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply charge they faced when they stood before Magistrate Andrew Forbes. The offence is alleged to have been committed on September 23.

On the afternoon in question, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers acted on a tip that led a team of officers into the Coral Harbour area, east of the round-about.

While conducting surveillance in the area, officers stopped a black 2005 Cadillac vehicle occupied by the three suspects.

The officers conducted a search of a nearby dirt road where they discovered a number of packages each containing a quantity of suspected marijuana.

The total weight of the marijuana is 570 pounds with an estimated street value of $570,000.

Hepburn was charged with an additional count of possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply stemming from the alleged incident.

The men, who were denied bail, are scheduled to stand trial on January 29, 2015.

Hepburn and King were represented by Roger Gomez II and Tai Pinder respectively. Basden had no lawyer at yesterday’s proceedings.
