Man in hospital after drive-by shooting

A MAN is in hospital after being injured during a drive-by shooting on Polhemus Street, police said.

According to reports, around 6pm Sunday a man was riding his bicycle when the occupants of a white Honda vehicle pulled up and fired several shots at him before speeding off.

The man, shot in his upper body, was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Investigations are continuing.

Drugs found

POLICE seized a quantity of ammunition and marijuana during an operation conducted by the Flying Squad Sunday night.

During the operation police, acting on intelligence, executed a search warrant at a home located at Derby Road in Yellow Elder Gardens, where they uncovered seven rounds of ammunition.

A 47–year-old man was taken into custody for questioning.

Police also went to an abandoned building located at Bethel Avenue where they found a quantity of marijuana.

Additionally, three other persons were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, questioning in reference to firearms and an outstanding criminal warrant.
