Junkanoo policing operation "a great success"

POLICE are hailing the "mammoth" security operation put on for the 2015 Junkanoo Boxing Day Parade on Bay Street as “a great success”.

Police report a "relatively incident-free" event due they say to the proactive and preventive measures they developed and implemented leading up to and during the event late on Christmas night and Boxing Day morning.

Police Commissioner Ellison Greenslade and the Royal Bahamas Police Force thanked and praised Bahamians and visitors for their good behaviour and support during what is the largest cultural event held in the Bahamas every year.

Is that a Junkanoo pic or a carnival pic on this article? If it's from carnival it really should be changed. We have a rich history of beautiful Junkanoo costumes that could be showcased.

The parade was executed flawlessly, congrats to Jeff Lloyd and his management team. On their first attempt, they did what had seemed impossible for all of 20 years. They demonstrated the difference that accountability and good management make . On a larger scale, we have a jewel in our hands, what a country we could have if we simply got good management.

Their next task is to make this into the "undisputed" greatest show on earth, that means production, flow of energy, good seating and an elevated stage.

Comrade it is so a Carnival stock picture that da Tribune will start calling we Boxing & Christmas Day Parades - Jonk-on-nu's?
It took one lazy-ass Jonk-on-nu of a story editor to have made the decision to include this photo with reporter's story.

You are so right Thisisours-I mean this is crazy. I am highly disappointed in the Tribune for this one. So many beautiful costumes and they display this foolishness! Come on Tribune, get it right!

The Tribune fell down on the one because this same picture was used in a carnival article same months ago.

Comrade give the Tribune credit for at least getting some their storytelling photographs within da '21st Century' - not that it ain't still confusing to their wanna-bee's historian readers.
Believe me I seen far greater outdated photographic examples frequently being practiced under instructions some lazy picture editor souls responsible upstairs at Shirley & Deveaux.
Or, blame it all on newspaper's restricted operational budget? Poochcees long known holding they cash close chest - their chests.
