Eleuthera Police station shooting suspects in status hearing

A STATUS hearing was held yesterday for two men scheduled to stand trial in six weeks in connection with a shooting at a Family Island police station.

Javaugn Javis Saunders, 22, and Makeil Musgove, 20, face charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of an unlicenced firearm and damage.

Prosecutors allege that they shot at the Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera, Police Station around 3.15 am on August 7, 2011 with a 9mm pistol and caused $500 worth damage to the southern glass window and the front desk.

They are also accused of having a firearm to endanger the life of Officer Barbara Saunders and the unauthorised possession of a firearm.

They are scheduled to stand trial before Senior Justice Stephen Isaacs on March 23. Domek Rolle and Candice Hepburn are the respective lawyers for Saunders and Musgrove.
