Fragments of stories I've been hearing...missed most but picked up on bits...someone in prison had a beef against him, or his bigger family...guy got out of prison and things started happening...his car got torched, other things...he rented a car to lay low but they ended up finding him. Not too sure what the connection is with the convict, but guessing that individual will be going back into HMP pretty darn quick.

"Fragments of stories I've been hearing..." Why spread rumours when a family is grieving. Your family could be next; nobody is immune from the violence here.

That's why I prefaced it with fragments of stories...don't wish any of this on my own worst enemy...but, sadly, knowing our country and culture at the moment, much like one of our 'tabloids' I can give this some credibility, more than a random killing/failed robbery attempt.

Thank you for the additional details. No such thing as too much information.

Bloggers are the New Media, telling it straight. Thank you, sir.

It is still unnecessary to make public stories you have been hearing. I am sick of the lack of compassion when people are going through tragedy. People are quick to spread rumours and hearsay about the victims with no thought of what this does to the families.

I am not a family member nor am I a friend of the family. Also, if you are talking about news, news should consist of facts that have been checked.

Then the Tribune is guilty majority of the times for misleading headlines etc... Why are you here??? UserOne is not being malicious, he is like all of us trying to understand what happened. Our hearts are with the family, and if any of us (readers) come across anything pertaining to this incident you can be sure as hell we'd report it. Knowledge is power! Someone may know someone, who may let slip and speak such details around the wrong person. Here's to hoping this family can find peace and justice very soon.

I am from US, have been visiting Nassau and Bahamas since honeymoon over 35 years ago. I have seen much change in amount of crime, not just 'beware of pick pockets' like it was told to us so long ago. Hubby, three grown kids and their spouses and 3 little grand tots and I have rented a home on the East End third week in May 2015. I am, for the first time ever, a bit unsure if I should cancel due to fear of a break-in or robbery.

I read your newspaper from time to time and I feel if residents are afraid, us visitors should be too. Maybe more. Any advice if we should cancel and go somewhere else? Your country is beautiful and most of the people are warm and welcoming ...it's the thugs, drugs, and thieves that scare me. Thanks in advance.
