A 51-year-old man was stabbed and hospitalised early Sunday morning in Freeport, police reported.

The victim was involved in an argument with a couple now being sought by police in connection with the stabbing.

Acting Assistant Superintendant Advardo Dames reported that at about 1:10am, a man was at a business on East Atlantic Drive north, in the vicinity of the YMCA when he started arguing with a woman.

Mr Dames said the woman’s male companion stabbed the man about the body with a knife causing serious injuries.

The man was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Mr Dames said police investigations are continuing in the matter and anyone with information that can assist the police can call 911 or the nearest police station.
