WORKING as a fitness professional for the past 15 years, Javinson Brown thought it was only right to use his knowledge to develop a company that spoke to his craft.

Under the name “My Language Learning” (MLL), Javinson has created a delivery based company that initially specialised in the promotion and sale of language software and eventually branched into the sale of health and fitness programmes.

He said the inspiration to promote the educational aspect of the business was due to how diverse the Bahamian population has grown, becoming very multicultural over the years.

MLL currently supplies language programmes on DVDs or CDs such as Rosetta Stone, Your Baby Can Read and fitness programmes such as FocusT-25, Zumba, Hip Hop ABS and Insanity, just to name a few. While the office is located in the West Bay Street area, MLL services are mobile.

“Branching into health and fitness programmes was inspired by my own personal interest in staying fit and living a healthy lifestyle. Presently, many Bahamians are suffering from chronic lifestyle conditions such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol because of our busy lifestyles and poor food choices,” he said.

“The health and fitness programmes offered by MLL provide expert instruction and personal fitness training programmes at affordable prices, thus saving a ton on gym membership and allowing for persons to get fit in workouts and at their convenience.”

The business owner said what makes the company so unique is the fact that MLL often exceeds customer expectations with quick and efficient delivery anywhere in the Bahamas in a short amount of time.

“MLL stays current with the latest fitness trends and is able to provide these programmes to the Bahamian public at excellent prices. As a fitness enthusiast, I am able to ensure quality fitness programmes and consultation about the best programme for your specific needs,” said Javinson.

He said it was no surprise to him that Bahamians adapted to and became interested in MLL. By purchasing any of the workout and fitness programmes sold by MLL, Javinson said persons are able to take control of their health, lose unwanted weight, get more active and improve their blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol levels without taking too much time out of their schedules and pockets.

“I feel that exercise is the key. It allows the body the energy it needs to do the natural work of healing itself and achieving and maintaining the proper state of balance,” said Javinson.

He said MLL wishes to play an active role in making better, healthier lifestyles more attainable for the average Bahamian. They also wish to provide a means to having a more health conscious nation.

“We plan to continue promoting and encouraging the Bahamian populace to not only expand their knowledge by increasing their language base, but also to continue to make health and fitness programmes easily accessible. I see MLL as a household name not only through the Bahamas, but eventually throughout the Caribbean,” Javinson said.

“The process of learning is infinite; you can never have enough knowledge or learn everything, whether it is new languages or new ways to enhance your fitness programme. Because of this I can see MML continuing to grow in leaps and bounds in serving the Bahamian community.”
