After a hard-fought season, the championship matchups are all set in the Government Secondary School Sports Association (GSSSA) basketball league’s senior divisions after the sudden death playoff rounds at the DW Davis Gymnasium last night.

The 2015 senior boys’ series will feature a rematch of the 2014 GSSSA championship series and Hugh Campbell final as the CI Gibson Rattlers will square off against the Doris Johnson Mystic Marlins.

The Rattlers, defending GSSSA champions, Hugh Campbell champions and 2015 pennant winners, were the first to advance with an 89-73 win over the fourth seeded Anatol Rodgers Timberwolves.

Shakwon Lewis scored a game high 17 points while Michael Sweeting added 13 and Johnley Noel finished with 11 points.

In the feature game of the night, the Mystic Marlins pulled away late to advance with a 64-51 win over the CC Sweeting Cobras.

Brandon Stubbs finished with a team high 16 points, Game Atilus finished with 12 and Kyle Turnquest added seven.

In the senior girls’ matchup, the CR Walker Knights and CV Bethel Stingrays will meet in the finals.

The Knights won 47-14 over the CI Gibson Rattlers, while the Stingrays scored a 20-16 win over Anatol Rodgers. Championship series in both senior and junior divisions begin 4pm Friday at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.
