Two in hospital after shooting

POLICE have launched an island-wide manhunt for the occupants of a silver coloured Nissan following a late night shooting that left two men in hospital.

The incident took place shortly after 9pm off Nassau Street.

According to reports, two men were standing in front of a home on Cambridge Street when the occupants of the vehicle pulled up and fired several shots at them before speeding off.

The two men were rushed to hospital where they are listed in a serious, but stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

In other crime news, a business owner and an employee were arrested on Thursday night for an alleged breach of the Liquor License Act.

A team of officers from “Operation Zero” entered a business establishment on East and Hay Streets, where they arrested a 40-year-old male proprietor and a 20-year-old female employee and confiscated an assortment of liquor.

Officers of the Mobile Division also arrested 15 people for a number of offences during road blocks on Thursday and 38 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.
