THE 54-year-old wife of Australian podiatrist Phillip Vasyli appeared in Magistrates Court this morning to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s murder in Old Fort Bay.

Donna Vasyli, who is also Australian, has retained the legal services of Elliot Lockhart, QC, and Murrio Ducille to defend her against the charge of murder she faces concerning the March 24 incident.

The charge was filed under Section 291 (1B) of The Penal Code, Chapter 84, which does not attract the discretionary death penalty if a conviction is reached at trial in Supreme Court.

Mr Vasyli, who owned four podiatry clinics around the world based in Sydney, Australia and at the Old Fort Bay Medical Centre in New Providence, was found lifeless in the dining room of his home with multiple stab wounds.
