Paying tribute

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The late Bertram Brown, FNM Meritorious Council Member (MCM) and a Freedom Fighter (FF), of Black Point, Exuma, was funeralised at Zion Baptist Church, Nassau, on Saturday and memorialised on Thursday at FNM Headquarters, Mackey Street.

Mr Brown was a well, devoted and hard working FNM from Exuma. He also suffered greatly under the PLP for his strong loyalty and conviction to the FNM.

He was bestowed the highest FNM honour: MCM.

Many FNMs who attended the two events were upset and disappointed that our leader, Dr Hubert Minnis, did not find it important enough to take the time to attend the memorial nor the funeral.

It was upon the shoulders of FNMs like Mr. Brown who nurtured and laboured in the FNM vineyards that kept the party going over the last 45 years so that Dr Minnis could have the privileged to lead our organisation.

We should always take time out to pay our respects to our fallen colleagues especially those who have endured so much for our party like Bertram Brown.

I thank Loretta Butler Turner, Peter Turnquest, Michael Foulkes, Frank Watson, Vernon Symonette, Sidney Collie and many other FNM former parliamentarians, MCMs, Party Officers and supporters for taking the time to attend the services.
