Four in hospital after shootings and stabbings

POLICE are investigating separate shooting and stabbing incidents that left four men in hospital.

The two stabbing reports occurred in Grand Bahama.

Shortly before 9pm on Saturday, a man was standing in front of his home at Meadows Street when he was shot in the leg by someone he knew, police said.

The shooter fled the area on foot.

Another man was shot on Friday, just before noon, police said.

That victim was standing in front of his home at Ideal Close off Soldier Road, when a man armed with a firearm approached him and shot him in the leg before fleeing on foot.

Both victims were taken to hospital and were last reported to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, police in Grand Bahama are investigating two stabbing incidents that have left a 23-year-old man and a 33-year-old man in hospital.

The first incident occurred shortly before noon on Friday.

According to police, two brothers were in the area of Frobisher Circle and ended up fighting. During the argument, one of the siblings was stabbed in his face. He was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital, seen by a doctor and later released.

His 32-year-old brother was arrested and taken into police custody.

The second incident occurred shortly before 10pm on Friday. A 33-year-old man was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital suffering from stab wounds in his stomach. Police were told that while in the Hearne Lane area, the victim was involved in an argument with a group of men when he was stabbed. His injuries are listed as serious.

Police are actively investigating.
