ONE of two brothers awaiting trial in connection with a fatal shooting at the exclusive Palm Cay community in eastern New Providence was denied bail by a Supreme Court judge on Monday.

Dwayne Heastie, 39, who with 36-year-old Samuel Heastie is charged with the murder of Jean Richmond, was not present for the ruling of Justice Gregory Hilton as he is currently at the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre.

His lawyer, Murrio Ducille said he would hear the court's ruling in his client's absence.

Justice Hilton went on to deny the elder sibling bail after considering a number of factors including "the need for public order and public safety".
