Minnis’ head is in the sand

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Your Editorial or Friday, 20th November, is right on point. Sadly, the mechanisms or party politics in the Bahamas, coupled with delusions of grandeur that many of our aspiring political leaders have developed, may well preclude such a potential means of changing the government of The Bahamas.

Just like Bran McCartney, whose dream of being Prime Minister, “every which way but loose”, precluded him from playing a lesser role in another party, Dr Minnis is clearly hell bent on being the lifetime leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.

With the clear hindsight of May 2012, Bran appears not to have the slightest intention of joining his DNA forces with any other party, and Dr Minnis seems to have his head in the sand, or is deaf, dumb and blind, and can’t see what a large segment of the Bahamian electorate can see.

The likelihood therefore is that both the FNM and DNA party supporters will again suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of a less popular party. I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbles. Also the way the Bahamas disintegrates.

Bruce Raine the Bahamas will not disintegrate , You and others like you have been looking forward to that for at least forty years. The Editorial in the papers said that the sensible competent people for the most part have left the Bahamas. I take it you are still here. Your wishes will not come through. So do your very best to get over your bitterness. You may disintegrate but the Bahamas will not.
