THE students of Akhepran International Academy visited The Tribune yesterday and learned about the printing press and the work of journalists in the office.

They learned that it took eight men to run the printing press and that it takes about nine hours to print each edition of the newspaper.

Each page of the newspaper is turned into a metal plate which is then put on the press for printing.

The visitors were told that a single roll of newspaper weighs around 800lbs and is made of items recycled from our environment.

Students also visited the archives where they saw the very first edition of the newspaper, from 1903. They learned that the first editor was Leon Dupuch and then helped to design and write this article.
