Potcakeman Triathlon on September 5

FOR the second year PowerAde is the title sponsor of the Potcakeman Triathlon.

On September 5, BAARK! (Bahamas Alliance for Animal Rights and Kindness) is scheduled to host its third triathlon on Jaws Beach. This year, for the second time, Caribbean Bottling Company, the local distributors of Coca-Cola products, will be the events title sponsor, dubbing the event the PowerAde Potcakeman Triathlon.

“BAARK! is delighted to once again be working with PowerAde as the title sponsor for the event,” said Sarah Kennedy. “PowerAde is the perfect hydration for our athletes and it’s great to be alongside a company so passionate about community involvement.”

“As PowerAde grows momentum in the Bahamian market, it is important to us, to be aligned with local events that encourage local athleticism, while working towards the better good of our collective community,” says Cara Douglas, marketing manager at Caribbean Bottling Company.

The PowerAde Potcakeman Triathlon is a sprint distance race consisting of a 750 metre swim, 21 kilometre bike and five kilometre run. Athletes can choose to complete all three disciplines or form a relay team to compete with. Following the adult race is a shortened Puppy Triathlon for children aged six to 14. You can register on or before midnight on September 1 on the event’s website: www.potcakeman.com.

The event is now the largest triathlon in the Bahamas, with over 200 participants. Proceeds go towards BAARK!’s spay/neuter and education programmes across the Bahamas.
