KESHELLE Davis is a woman who wears many hats. She is an entrepreneur, facilitator and trainer, and now she is hosting her own self-help seminar for Bahamian professionals.
She is inviting career professionals to “Stand Out and Make It Real” at her upcoming business and personal success workshop to be held at SuperClubs Breezes on September 26.
Designed to move people further and faster toward their life goals and dreams, the event will begin at 10am featuring presenters like jewellery designer Chevette Williamson, deputy managing director at Bank of the Bahamas Hubert Edwards and UK business mentor Camilitta Nutall.
The event will cover topics such as “How to recognise your true value and boldly go after what you want in life”, “The eight paths to wealth: how to find your flow and leave your legacy”, and more.
As the popular “experience is the best teacher” adage goes, Keshelle remembers her very first training opportunity given to her some time ago by her then supervisor at RBC, Samita Ferguson. Ms Ferguson, she said, took note of her potential at work and her love for technology, and asked Keshelle to teach the branch staff about new technology that the bank wanted to roll out.
“She thought I did so well that she got me to travel to the other branches to teach their employees as well. All other jobs, in between the start-ups of my companies, I was connected to the training department or role,” said Keshelle.
Her career path, the said is her passion, her gift from God.
“It’s tied to my purpose. I can express unlimited creativity and it allows me total freedom and flexibility to move, work and live the life I truly want. I get to meet some of the greatest and most amazing people on the planet,” she said.
In 2008, Keshelle founded Creative Wealth Bahamas, an organisation that teaches young Bahamians the meaning of money and the beauty of business through programmes, products and events. Soon after, with an international partner, she launched a company called My Girlfriends Business, which later expanded and is now called Girlfriends & Co, a multi-pronged women’s empowerment organisation.
Then in 2010, she established The Training Authority, a private corporate training company. She was elected to the Bahamas Chamber Board as one of the youngest women ever to serve on the board, after co-founding the Organisation of Young Professionals (a division of the Bahamas Chamber Board).
Her business ideas are inspired by many people, places and things, but she emphasised that the upcoming “Stand Out” workshop is specifically inspired by two persons, namely Chevette Williamson and the late Dr Myles Munroe.
“Chevette Williamson is a ‘sister-friend’ of 15 years. I truly believe that she is the best jewellery artist in this country. We were chatting one day about new marketing ideas and words to describe her neck pieces. After several words we came up with, one that jumped out at me was ‘standout’. My mind went wild, which it usually does when I’m in my creative space, and out popped the words: ‘Standout Woman’ – a woman of substance, style and significance. Chevette’s work not only helps women to standout, but as a person she embodies a woman of substance, style and significance,” said Keshelle.
In regard to the late Dr Munroe, Keshelle said everything to do with his life, work and legacy – especially in the area of his vision, purpose, potential, leadership – inspires this workshop.
To secure a seat at the seminar, tickets are to be ordered online at www.attendstandout.com and picked up at The Bahamian Boutique, Rosetta Street.
