TENNIS
RUSSELL LOSES
WAYNE Russell III was the only Bahamian competing in the 12th Copa Arabe International IFF Grade 5 Tournament in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, over the weekend. Russell lost in the first round to Robert Lazar in set scores of 6-0, 6-1.
“Wayne competed very well in the match despite the lopsided score,” said coach Bradley Bain. “In the first set Wayne had two of six opportunities to win a game which he was not able to convert. The second set was quite different as he had seven out of seven opportunities to change the dynamics of the second set. He converted on just one chance, thus losing the set and match.”
Bain said Russell is learning to compete and he can clearly see the growth in his game.
